You're a CC student, wondering if a transfer to your dream school is actually possible from where you're sitting.
With the right person guiding your path, it absolutely is. Since I started admissions coaching in 2016, 98% of my transfer students have been accepted to top 20 colleges, including the Ivies.
I'm Coach Sean. Years ago, I made this exact transfer myself to Berkeley Haas. I then worked in Carnegie Mellon admissions and UC Berkeley TAP, where I read thousands of applications and saw exactly what gets a strong yes. Over the past decade, I've helped 200+ students replicate that path into top schools.
This isn’t your typical college counseling. I’m your personal coach, strategist, and career mentor. We’ll build the perfect transfer arc, from our Day 1 together to Decision Day, and I’ll hold you accountable to your maximum potential.
From past students, now at Ivies and beyond:
“Really loved how the coach wasn’t kidding when he talked about being hands-on. He gave me access to opportunities I had no clue existed (and neither did my counselors). He delivered on his word and got me through into top schools, plus unique ECs that genuinely transformed my apps. Appreciate you, Sean!”
Jordan W. (Engineering/Econ)
Transferred to Brown
“I never thought Ivies were ever realistic with my GPA. Sean saw something in me that I didn't and drove me to tell a narrative in a way that made the numbers matter less, and my real accomplishments more. He was also a huge help in getting my path straight at CC and end with a 3.8. I'm proof that your GPA doesn't have to define your future.”
Anna B. (Biology/Pre-Med)
Transferred to Cornell
"When I started at community college, I was overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start as an international student. The Leeway system was solid. It highlighted what really mattered in my background and built 15+ ECs on top of it. In the end I submitted something I was really proud of... and it got me into Columbia."
Eun Seo C. (Econ/Math)
Transferred to Columbia
“Before working with The Leeway I was very lost in the transfer system. Sean taught me how to frame my story, expanded my portfolio by 10x, step by step, and kept me accountable through it all. The hours were long, but when Haas said yes I knew every late-night session was worth it. My dream school would’ve remained a dream without him.”
Jay K. (Business/Stats)

How the program works
I personally build your transfer profile across five pillars. This isn't essay editing or generic advice. Every part of your candidacy is designed from scratch, executed together, and refined until it lands. By the end, you'll be positioned as a top 1% transfer candidate, guaranteed.
What makes it different
01. You work with me, only me.
No junior associates. No outsourced essay writers. The person who runs your first strategy session is the same person who reviews your final supplement. Most firms can't say that, but they’ll charge more anyway.
02. I do the work, not just the advice.
Other counselors will tell you to "find research opportunities" or "build leadership experience." I place you into them, then coach you through the writing required to access them. Every REU statement, internship cover letter, and summer program application gets written with you, not just suggested.
03. An optional money-back guarantee.
If you maintain your GPA target, follow the plan, and don't get into your top schools, you get your program fee back. We sign a contract for it. The guarantee is available for students with a minimum 3.7 to 3.9 GPA depending on major. Students below this range can still enroll in the full program without the guarantee.
The Leeway Advantage
Other Admissions Counselors and Firms
Expertise: Actual work is done by essay writers and recent graduates with no admissions experience
Track Record: Often only publishes record with students already at top 2-3% level, inflating metrics
Cohort Size: High volume, dozens of students getting
passed around multiple employees
Process: Irregular check-ins and lack of organization mean they won’t hold you accountable on progress
Personalization: Very little, with heavy reliance on preformulated templates and “pay to play” activities
Execution: Hands off a generic laundry list of EC suggestions and tells you “good luck”
Essay Strategy: Outdated templates, formulas, AI-assisted writing without human-centered storytelling
Communication: Frequent ghosting after they take your money, high rates of frustration
Pricing: Overpriced: $25K+ for premium packages while trying to minimize number of hours spent on you
Guarantee: No accountability for your outcome, or legally risky terms (e.g. “pay per college”)
Work 1:1 with Coach Sean, former admissions at Carnegie Mellon, TAP advisor, and Haas transfer alum

The Leeway Method
Over 6 to 18 months, I personally build your transfer profile across five pillars. This isn't essay editing or generic advice. Every part of your candidacy is designed from scratch, executed together, and refined until perfection. Here’s how it’s done:
Profile Foundations: Before anything else, we spend our first few sessions identifying your narrative, brand, and mission. Getting this trifecta right makes or breaks your entire candidacy. It becomes the overarching thread we reinforce across everything we build for the rest of our work together.
Portfolio Accelerator: Through my network of 110+ curated opportunities, I personally place you into research positions, internships, civic engagement roles, and professional organizations that strengthen your profile. Most CC students don't know these exist. I do. My students typically build 14 to 16 exclusive, high-impact ECs by the time they apply.
Academic Blueprint: Semester-by-semester coursework planning (there’s a whole strategy behind this), full articulation mapping, scholarship application strategy worth up to $120K per student, and a contingency plan if a grade ever threatens your GPA. Your school list is built around your true academic strengths and career ambitions.
Application Mastery: Every essay, activity description, and supplement drafted and perfected together with unlimited revisions. I guarantee your essays will impress every AO regardless of the institution. In fact, your final application is reviewed by 2–3 former AOs from my network before you hit submit.
Concierge Support: Regular meetings on a cadence that fits your schedule. Every question from you or your family answered within 1 business day. I stay with you through every acceptance letter, help you choose, and build a future-proof roadmap at your new school.
See the list below for everything you’ll get with my coaching:
-
1. Personal Narrative Design: We’ll craft one cohesive story connecting your academics, interests, and goals so that admissions officers instantly understand who you are and where you’re headed.
2. "Social Impact" Branding: Top universities look for leadership and purpose in contributions towards society. Together we’ll shape a higher mission that makes your profile memorable and meaningful by connecting you to opportunities where you get involved in local businesses, nonprofits, and government institutions.
3. Strategic EC Positioning: I guide you to targeted opportunities that fill gaps in your profile, including leadership, community impact, and academic depth. My students typically have 14 to 16 high-impact ECs by the time they apply. Each one is strategically chosen to reinforce your narrative, not just pad your list.
-
4. Elite Research Placements: Academic research is one of the most impactful additions to your profile. I’ll match you with multiple impactful research opportunities aligned with your major interests and help craft proposals that boost your narrative.
5. Internship/Externship Placements: I connect you with relevant internships during the year and/or winter/summer breaks to showcase your readiness and “Personal Brand” clarity to AOs, while furthering your own career journey so you can establish your career trajectory ASAP.
6. Guaranteed Social/Civic Impact Placements – You will be matched with community, political, and/or civic engagement opportunities, strategically aligned to your profile, as AOs are looking for mission-driven, “real world” contributions versus random volunteering hours that don’t serve your personal purpose.
7. Resume and LinkedIn Design + Interview Prep: I build your resume and LinkedIn from scratch and run you through technical and behavioral interview prep, so you're ready to secure competitive internships and research positions, not just apply.
8. Summer and Winter Break Programming: Every break is a strategic window. I help you decide the right balance — coursework, internship, research, or fellowship — based on where your profile has gaps and what will move the needle most before you apply.
9. Nationwide Organization Membership: I secure your memberships in professional and academic organizations, such as industry groups and national leadership networks, that add credibility to your profile and open doors to scholarships, conferences, and networking you wouldn't access on your own.
10. Faculty Relationships: I coach you on building genuine relationships with your professors, the kind that lead to strong recommendation letters, research invitations, and mentorship that extends beyond your time at CC.
-
11. Coursework Roadmap: I'll build you an exact roadmap for what courses to take for which semester, to maximize your chances of finishing CC with a 4.0 GPA while evolving key skills for your upper-division and career goals.
12. Articulation Mastery: I’ll personally map your classes using to ensure optimal course variety, minimize wasted credits, and maximize transfer efficiency.
13. School and Major Planning: I take the time to understand your actual interests, strengths, and career goals — not just what you think you should major in. From there, I build a strategic school list matched to your ambitions and your realistic admit chances.
14. Academic Signal Boosting: We create visible signals of academic seriousness, such as course rigor, specialization, and intellectual initiative, that AOs specifically look for when evaluating transfer candidates.
15. Scholarship Application Strategy: I'll identify transfer scholarships and provide application support (e.g. Phi Theta Kappa, Jack Kent Cooke, Coca-Cola Scholars, etc.) that could be worth up to $120K.
16. Academic Contingency Planning: If a bad grade threatens your GPA, I step in immediately with a plan, whether that's a course adjustment, a retake strategy, or a way to reframe it in your application narrative.
17. Performance Systems Coaching: I help you build the systems that high-performing students rely on: time management, task prioritization, and self-advocacy with professors and advisors. These habits set you up to thrive long after you transfer to your dream school
The goal: transform your profile from “another applicant with a high GPA” to “I need this student on my campus, now.”
-
18. Activities List Mastery: I work with you to craft every activity description so each character counts, highlighting your leadership, impact, and growth across everything we've built together.
19. Essay Mastery: We brainstorm, outline, draft, and refine every essay together: all four UC Personal Insight Questions, your Common App personal statement, and every supplemental essay for your private school targets. Unlimited revisions until each one is compelling, authentic, and fully aligned with your narrative. You won't submit anything you're not proud of.
20. Strategic School & Major Selection: I build your perfect full school list (UCs + privates) with a realistic reach/target/safety structure. For private schools, we select the programs where your profile is strongest and tailor every application to that school's specific values and culture.
21. Recommendation Letter Strategy: I help you identify the right recommenders, coach you on how to approach them, and ensure each letter reinforces your narrative from a different angle.
22. Full Application Audit: Before you submit anything — UC or private — I review your entire application end to end. Every field, every description, every word.
23. AO Peer Review: Your final essays get a second layer of review from 2–3 former admissions officers in my network. You'll know how your application reads to the people who actually make these decisions.
24. Complete Portfolio Design: If your target program accepts or encourages a portfolio, I help you select, organize, and present your work for maximum impact.
-
25. Biweekly Strategy Sessions: Regular meetings and frequent communication to accomplish every bullet point listed above.
26. 24-Hour Response Policy: No ghosting here: every question from you or your family answered within one business day. Most of the time, much faster.
27. Post-Submission Guidance: I stay with you through every acceptance letter, help you make your final decision, and build a roadmap for your first semester so you hit the ground running.

Most of my students hear about The Leeway from friends who've been through it. If you join through a referral, both you and the student who referred you receive a credit toward your program. It's how the practice has grown for ten years without paid advertising.
Half the price of the alternatives.
Crimson Education, Transfergoat, and similar firms charge two to three times my pricing for less hands-on work and weaker track records.Remember: Less than 1% of Americans attend elite schools.
